Ways of Finding Great Content for Your Website

The value of website depends on the quality of your content. Your website is only as good as its content. If the visitor finds the information needed matching their desired keyword and solution they always come back and stay on the site. Great content drives traffic, creates loyalty and ultimately leads to higher ranking with major searching engines.
Poor content results in the opposite or wrong impression the readers starting think that this is only for making money and cannot benefits them. And eventually ends up low search rankings, low traffic and ultimately leads get out of the main stream searching results. Anyone with an idea or passion can build a web site in these days. You don't need special software or an expensive Certification to put your thoughts into the “galaxy of Internet”. All it takes is a little knowledge, maybe some advice, and of course lots of content.
So how do you get great quality content?
Ways to Get Great Quality Content
Resource # 1 – Use What You’ve Got that is easily accessible;magazine articles, journals, books, hobby notes, academic study, etc. Try to redefine what you already have instead of starting from scratch. Break articles up into shorter posts. Website publishers already have lots of material they have written on different topics in your daily life.
Resource # 2 - Create it yourself;Content created by you cannot be substitute with anything. The thing that differentiates great content sites from average ones is exclusive, relevant and timely content. However it can get tough to keep up with creating new content every day so you will need to find other sources.
Resource # 3 - Hire a Freelancer; There are thousands of freelance writers who can create articles for your site. You can brief them about what you want, the tone and the length and they will write to a deadline. You can find the writers on eLance , Odesk and Guru, but you can also do a Google search on ‘freelance writers’ followed by your subject e.g. 'freelance writers’ food'. Make sure you see their work and check references.
Resource # 4 - Free Article Websites; There are websites where you can find and legally copy thousands of articles. Many of the articles may not fit on your standard but there are some useful ones amongst them. Anyone can use them if they acknowledge the author and include a link. The disadvantage is that the good articles can appear on dozens of sites across the web which is not good in regards with the quality of the sites.
Some of the free content websites are:· Ezine Articles · ArticlesBase · Isnare
Resource # 5 – Magazines, Newsletters and Journals;Read the magazines and newsletters for your niche subject. If you find interesting articles paraphrase them into shorter features. Top 10 lists are a popular and easy way of paraphrasing long features.
Resource # 6 – Third Party Contributors; The third party contributors are kind of tough to get unless you have too many unique hits or high ranking. Usually there are lots of third parties who would like to get an article onto your site in order to reach your audience. Identify a list of potential contributors and then approach them with a marketing attitude in your mind i.e., subject suggestions and a promise that they can have a bio and link in the article footer. Ensure you retain editorial rights on all content or articles can end up being no more than advertorial.
Resource # 7 – Interviews;Interviews are a relatively easy or I would say simplest way of creating content. You can either publish them as written articles or audio or video clips. Prepare a list of questions before conducting an interview to ensure it flows and the content is relevant and it sounds professional.
Resource # 8 – Press Releases;Sign up to one of the many press release services so you receive PR related to your subject. It is not recommend publishing press releases verbatim; paraphrase the main points and then give your personal opinion on the announcement.
Resource # 9 – Sign Up to RSS Feeds;Set up a Google Reader account and monitor what is being said on related blogs and websites. Create your own stories based on discussions and new trends. Resource # 10 – User Generated Content;Open your website to your readers to submit articles. This can have mixed results. You can easily offend people by not publishing what they have written. However it can also build a sense of community and belonging if you get it right.
Resource # 11 – Helium.com for buying articles;Helium is an interesting website where you can upload a content brief and a price you are prepared to pay for the article. Helium members then write the article and submit them to you. You select the one you like most and pay that writer.
Resource # 12 – ForumsUser the forums that are relevant to your subject, take a look at which posts attract the most discussion. Read the threads and create an article based on what has been said.
Resource #13 – Reader Questions;Encourage your readers to ask you questions and then publish the question with your answer as an article. It's quick, easy and ensures your content is relevant to your audience. Resource # 14 – Use Graphs and TablesThere are a lot of free tools that produce graphs and tables of information. These can become the basis of simple articles. Try:· Google Insights for Search · Google Keywords Tool · Alexa · Compete
Resource # 15 – WikipediaWikipedia is a treasure trove of great information and can be used to source information for articles.
Resource # 16 – About.comLike Wikipedia, About.com has a huge archive of well written articles which can provide inspiration for creating content on just about any subject.
Resource #17 – StumbleUponIf you have time then stumble the web uses StumbleUpon. There are thousands of wonderful websites that you would never come across if it wasn’t for tools like this bringing them to the surface.
Always remember that the difference between outstanding content websites and poor ones is the originality, relevance and timeliness of the content.
